Free Numerology Calculator

This numerology calculator turns a full name and birth date into your five core numbers: Life Path, Expression, Soul Urge, Personality, and Birthday. It uses the standard Pythagorean letter chart and shows every sum and reduction so you can check each result.

Master numbers 11, 22, and 33 are kept, the letter Y can be counted by context, and accented names are handled. Everything runs in your browser, and nothing you type is uploaded or saved. For entertainment and self-reflection only.

Step 1

Enter a name and birth date

Use the full birth name for the traditional reading. Everything is calculated in this browser; nothing is uploaded or saved.

Accents are converted (é to E); spaces separate name parts; hyphens, apostrophes, and digits are skipped.

Birth date

Y counts as a vowel unless it sits next to A, E, I, O, or U in the same name, as in Lynn or Mary but not Yolanda or Murray. This only changes Soul Urge and Personality.

The Pythagorean letter chart

Each letter gets a value from 1 to 9 by its place in the alphabet, wrapping every nine letters. Totals are reduced by adding their digits until one digit remains, unless the total is a master number.

Numerology calculator FAQ

How do you calculate a Life Path number?

Reduce the birth month, day, and year to single digits separately, keeping 11, 22, and 33, then add the three results and reduce again. For May 19, 1983: 5, 19 becomes 1, and 1983 becomes 21 then 3, so 5 + 1 + 3 = 9.

What are master numbers?

11, 22, and 33 are called master numbers. When a total lands on one of them, numerologists stop reducing and read it as 11/2, 22/4, or 33/6. This calculator keeps them at each reduction step and at the final result.

Is Y a vowel in numerology?

It depends on the tradition. By default this calculator counts Y as a vowel unless it sits next to A, E, I, O, or U, so the Y in Lynn is a vowel but the Y in Yolanda is not. You can switch to always-vowel or always-consonant and see the effect immediately.

Which name should I use?

Traditional numerology uses the full name given at birth, including middle names. You can also try a married name or nickname to compare. Accents are converted to plain letters and punctuation is skipped.

Is numerology scientific?

No. Numerology is a traditional practice with no scientific evidence behind it. Treat the results as entertainment and a prompt for self-reflection, not as medical, legal, financial, or predictive advice.
